About the event
The Mentorship Training Course by Flourishing Hub is designed to equip IIT Bombay student mentors with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to effectively support the personal, emotional, and academic growth of their mentees. Recognizing the vital role that mentors play in shaping students' transition and overall well-being, the course provides practical tools to foster meaningful mentor- mentee relationships. Relationships that are built on trust, empathy, and guidance.
Through a blend of interactive discussions, experiential activities, and real-life scenarios, mentors shall develop essential mentoring competencies across 5 key modules:
Module 1: Identifying & Managing Psychological Concerns
Mentors shall develop the ability to identify signs of psychological distress, understand the risk factors involved and techniques they can utilize to support their mentees.
Module 2: Mentorship Communication
Aimed at building effective communication skills, including active listening, empathetic responding, asking meaningful questions, and creating psychologically safe spaces for mentees.
